Improvements to Screenshot Test Results Page
We've added a couple of enhancements to our screenshot test results page that we think you'll find very useful!
As our screenshot engine processes a requested browser, the "windowed" screenshot is returned to the results page as soon as it's complete, meaning, screenshot images start appearing on the screen more quickly. Also, if the "fullpage" version fails for any reason, the "windowed" result is still available for review. In the case of a failure, your time will not be deducted against, so the "windowed" screenshot is on us.
We've had requests from users for the "retake" option under a single screenshot result to actually run as part of the same test instead of taking the user to the screenshot launch page, which then creates a separate test for the selected browser. We agreed this would be a good idea and have implemented this change.
Now when you hit "retake" on a single browser, the screenshot is re-run on screen as part of the same test and replaces the previous result. Good idea guys! We think this is a nice improvement.
Last but not least, there are a few other minor changes you'll notice:
- the progress window for a screenshot has a better contrasting background
- there's a loading animation as an image is loaded when switching views
- downloading zipped screenshots and retrieving results via an API call will also include the windowed screenshot even if the overall test failed
- launching into a Live Test will use your preference setting for whether it opens in a new tab or a new window
Keep the good ideas coming!
